Benefits of having a Pet

Pets bring love in our lives without expecting a minimum in the return. They are your best friends and show you love and care in their own unique way. They are there for us no matter what and their love language needs no words. There are tons of benefits of having a pet;

  • Pet owners are less likely to suffer from depression.
Life is stressful and stress leads to numerous health issues. Luckily pets can help us relax. Just stroking your dog or watching your cat play could help melt away all your worries. Studies have proven that pet owners tend to have lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels as compared to people who don't own a pet.

  • They keep you fit

  Pets, for example, dogs need regular, daily walks to stay healthy, as do we! However, our daily lives prevent us from going out and indulging in any kind of physical activity. Pets love to go out and play which automatically leads us to go with them. A dog could be the best personal trainer you could get.

  • you're never lonely
If you live by yourself or don't like to socialize much, you can get lonely pretty soon, unless you have a pet at home. Cats and dogs are best for this these people. They are always waiting for you at home and are up for a snuggle or to lends you their ears to rant about your awful day.

These are just a few benefits of having pets, much more is yet to be discussed.

Who Are The Culprits of Lahore-Motorway Case?

 3 days ago, on 9th September, a woman was raped on Lahore-Gujranwala Motorway. The heinous incident took place at around 2 30 a.m. (GMT+5) when the woman was traveling from Lahore to Gujranwala with her 3 children. According to reports, her car when out of fuel at Gujarpura Motorway Area. She is reported to have called her family back in Lahore which in return, advised her to call the motorway police immediately given the security concern, while they to were on their way to her. This was when two armed men approached her, broke the windows of her car, and, dragged her out along with her children. She was brutally gang-raped in front of her children.

According to Khalid Masood, the eye witness who reported the incident to Dolphin Force, the crime took place at the link road where the woman and her 3 children were dragged to the side of the road and upon resentment, the woman was slapped and physically abused with a stick. She was also forced to comply by putting her three innocent children on gunpoint.

According to Dolphin Force Officer, Ali Waqas, "when we reached the spot, the windows of the car were broken and stained with blood and we found shoe of a child lying in the bushes. Upon Aerial firing and constant calling for the victim, we heard a faint voice of a woman calling 'Brother'. When we reached there, we saw a female stained in blood with her 3 children gripping her tightly, terrified." The woman was immediately transferred to the hospital.

Now, if we talk about what government officials have to say about this, then I think the best way is to start with the questionable remarks of CCPO Lahore, Mr. Umar Sheikh, who apparently thinks that the victim is a female and should not have traveled at night in the first place. " In our society, we don't let the females out at midnight", he says to the media. He also said that the female being a French citizen had France in her orientation, and forgot that our society is different and that this incident is a warning for the general public. His remarks have been condemned by many notable officials including Human Rights Officer, Shirin Mazari, and Inspector General  (IG) Punjab, Inam Ghani, who asserted, "guard cannot tell the owner of the house to protect their belongings themselves".

you can watch CCPO's defense statement below,

According to the most recent report, the criminals namely, Abid Ali Malhi, who is a resident of Fort Abbas District, Bahawalnagar and has a criminal history for having raped a girl in 2013, and his accomplice, Waqar-ul-Hassan Shah, have been identified by the Punjab Police when they were trying to use the ATM Cards they robbed from the victim. An award of 2.5 Million has been set on their arrest. Punjab Police has also released their photos to the public.

This incident has caused us to question our values and beliefs. How can someone be so vicious to have committed such a monstrous crime of raping a mother in front of her 3 innocent children? Have we forgotten who we are? We all need justice for this mother, for the 12-year-old Laiba whose dead body was found in a pile of garbage in Karachi, after being brutally raped, for the 5-year-old Marwa, we want justice for every girl, mother, and sister who is afraid of going out at night, or even during the day.

As for the punishment, people are forcing the government to hang the rapist. But I think that hanging is a very easy death for these monsters. They should be publicly stoned to death as is also commanded by Islam or another option is to have them castrated (cut off their private part).

Raise your voice against this crime. Use the power of the public to ask for justice for these sisters. Please share this with your friends, the more people raising their voice against this, the more Government will be forced to comply.

 Thank You.
